The Social Security Federal Court Paralegal works closely with the Supervising Paralegal and attorneys, assisting in the preparation and management of Social Security claims at the Federal Court level. This position supports Federal Court matters throughout the litigation process, including the drafting, preparation, and filing of complaints, motions, requests for extensions, and other court-related documents.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary contact with assigned clients.
- Prepare IFP applications, perform federal debt checks, and complete student loan verification.
- Draft, prepare, and file Federal Court complaints.
- Draft and file motions, requests for extensions of time, and other court-related documents as needed.
- Monitor filing deadlines and ensure court documents are prepared and submitted accurately and timely.
- Prepare and organize Federal Court transcripts.
- Process referral and new client files.
- Update and process existing client files.
- Maintain accurate case information and documentation within Litify.
- Answer incoming phone calls and field client questions.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Firm policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree and/or paralegal certificate.
- Prior paralegal or legal support experience with experience preparing and filing court documents.
- Experience drafting and filing complaints, motions, requests for extensions of time, and other legal documents strongly preferred.
- Federal Court filing experience preferred.
- Prior Social Security experience preferred.
- Experience with WORLDOX and Litify a plus.
- Customer service skills and experience.

We are currently seeking a candidate to work in our Syracuse, NY office.
