Offit Kurman, a growing Am Law 200 law firm, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Trusts & Estates practice in our New York City office. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys providing exceptional support to attorneys and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to multiple Trusts & Estates attorneys.
  • Manage complex attorney calendars, coordinate meetings, conference calls, travel arrangements, and client appointments.
  • Prepare, proofread, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, and client communications.
  • Draft and assemble estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, living wills, certifications of trust, and related documents.
  • Prepare execution copies, coordinate document signings, and ensure proper witnessing and notarization.
  • Assemble estate planning portfolios, client binders, and closing books.
  • Assist with probate and estate administration matters, including preparing court filings and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate electronic court filings and maintain organized electronic and physical client files.
  • Monitor deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and provide ongoing matter management support.
  • Assist with attorney time entry, billing, expense reports, and other administrative tasks.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, financial institutions, and outside professionals while delivering exceptional client service.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive client and firm information.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of legal administrative experience supporting a Trusts & Estates, Estate Planning, Probate, or Elder Law practice.
  • Experience preparing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related planning documents.
  • Working knowledge of probate procedures, estate administration, and court filing processes preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a law firm environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Outlook, including legal document formatting.
  • Experience with legal document management and billing software; familiarity with probate e-filing systems is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
