Assistant Procurement Manager
About this role
Responsibility:
Procurement Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals. Monitor market trends to anticipate procurement needs and adjust strategies accordingly.
Process Optimization: Enhance procurement processes by identifying and addressing inefficiencies. Implement best practices to streamline procurement activities and improve overall efficiency.
Ethical Practices:Uphold integrity and confidentiality in all procurement activities, maintaining the company's reputation and protecting its resources.
Vendor Management: Lead the process of evaluating and selecting vendors. Manage supplier performance through regular reviews and feedback sessions. Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable service and favorable terms.
Cost Savings:Drive cost-saving initiatives by negotiating competitive pricing and benchmarking against industry standards. Monitor procurement expenditures and report on savings achieved.
Contract Management:Oversee the negotiation and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations. Resolve any contractual disputes or issues with suppliers.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities and supplier relationships.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance, training, and support to the procurement team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Conduct performance evaluations and manage team development.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, including project managers and department heads, to ensure procurement needs are met and expectations are managed.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
