Nutrition Management Services Company (NMSC) is seeking a dependable and hardworking Utility / Food Prep Associate to join our culinary team at a private school.
This is a hands-on position supporting both daily food preparation and overall kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is reliable, works well as part of a team, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Assist cooks and culinary staff with basic food preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, and assembling ingredients and menu items.
Assist with preparation of salads, sandwiches, grab-and-go items, beverages, and other foods as assigned.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, trays, and other kitchen equipment.
Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment in accordance with sanitation standards.
Maintain clean and organized kitchen, dish, storage, and food preparation areas.
Sweep and mop floors and remove trash and recycling throughout the workday.
Assist with receiving, stocking, and proper rotation of food and supplies.
Restock kitchen and serving areas as needed.
Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleaning before and after meal periods.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures.
Support the culinary team wherever needed to ensure efficient and timely meal service.
QualificationsQualifications
Previous food service, kitchen, restaurant, or utility experience preferred but not required.
Basic food preparation experience is a plus.
Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
Ability to follow instructions and established food safety and sanitation procedures.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move food, supplies, equipment, and waste as required.
