Nutrition Management Services Company (NMSC) is seeking a friendly, dependable Cashier / Food Prep Associate to join our dining services team at a private school.
This is a hands-on position combining customer service, cashier responsibilities, food preparation, and dining service. The ideal candidate enjoys working with students and being part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide friendly and professional service to students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process meal purchases and transactions.
Assist with preparing sandwiches, salads, grab-and-go items, beverages, snacks, and other menu items.
Set up and maintain serving areas, displays, condiment stations, and grab-and-go areas.
Portion and package food according to established standards.
Restock food, beverages, utensils, and supplies throughout meal periods.
Assist the culinary team with basic food preparation as needed.
Maintain clean and organized serving, cashier, and food preparation areas.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures.
Assist with receiving, stocking, and proper rotation of food and supplies.
Help with breakdown and cleaning following meal periods.
Work cooperatively with the culinary and dining services team to provide an efficient and positive dining experience.
QualificationsQualifications
Previous cashier, food service, retail, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
Basic food preparation experience is a plus.
Friendly and professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.
Comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and staff throughout the day.
Ability to accurately handle transactions and operate a POS system.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work efficiently during busy meal periods.
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move food and supplies as required.
