About the Role:

The Human Resources Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the HR department within the health care and social assistance industry by managing and streamlining employee-related processes. This position ensures the accurate and timely completion of new hire paperwork, maintains comprehensive employee records, and facilitates effective employee relations to foster a positive workplace environment. The coordinator is responsible for administering benefits programs and ensuring compliance with employment laws and organizational policies. By utilizing HRIS systems such the coordinator maintains the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the HR function, supporting both employees and management in achieving organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources, administration, recruiting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with HRIS systems
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations applicable to the health care and social assistance industry.
  • Experience in benefits administration and employee relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working in the health care or social assistance sector.
  • Advanced proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse employee populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage new hire paperwork and onboarding documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Progressive discipline experience
  • Maintain and update employee records and databases using HRIS systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist in benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and communication with employees.
  • Support employee relations by addressing inquiries, facilitating communication between staff and management, and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate with various departments to support HR initiatives and projects as needed.
  • Generate reports and maintain records related to HR activities and metrics.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism at all times.

The required skills such as proficiency in the HRIS systems are essential for managing employee databases and streamlining HR processes on a daily basis. Expertise in new hire paperwork and benefits administration ensures smooth onboarding and employee satisfaction.
