Job Overview

Are you an experienced driver looking for a rewarding role in the maritime and logistics industry? We are seeking a reliable Freight Driver to safely transport ship parts, equipment, freight, and vessel supplies between ports, warehouses, airports, vendors, and customer locations.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience as a Delivery Driver, Freight Driver, Logistics Driver, Courier Driver, Non-CDL/CDL Driver, Airport Driver, Transportation Driver, Warehouse Driver, or Maritime Logistics Associate.

The Freight Driver plays a critical role in supporting vessel operations by ensuring time-sensitive deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and professionally while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight, ship parts, and supplies.
  • Pick up and deliver cargo between ships, ports, airports, warehouses, and customer locations.
  • Inspect freight for damage, shortages, or safety concerns before transport.
  • Verify item counts and shipping documentation during pickups and deliveries.
  • Secure cargo using proper loading and tie-down procedures.
  • Utilize company mobile applications to scan freight and complete required documentation.
  • Capture and upload delivery photos and shipment records.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding schedules, delivery updates, route changes, and job completion.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Conduct basic vehicle care, including cleaning and fluid checks.
  • Assist with warehouse operations and inventory handling as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety standards, OSHA requirements, and applicable DOT regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to vessel crews, clients, vendors, and port personnel.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of driving, freight handling, courier, delivery, transportation, or logistics experience.
  • Must be 23 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to maintain personal automobile insurance as required by state law.
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card before employment begins.
  • Ability to lift, load, and secure freight safely.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, mobile apps, and technology for documentation and communication.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in maritime logistics, shipping, transportation, warehouse operations, freight delivery, or supply chain services.
  • Experience operating cargo vans, pickup trucks, or box trucks.
  • Familiarity with ports, airports, shipping terminals, or vessel operations.
