ROLE OVERVIEW
The Counter Sales Associate drives sales and customer satisfaction by assisting walk-in and telephone customers with product selection and order fulfillment. This role leverages technical knowledge to solve customer needs and build lasting relationships.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Order Fulfillment & Inventory
Pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery or pickup; track order status at all times
Receive shipments, log into inventory, conduct audits, and process returns accurately
Customer Service
Assist counter and phone customers with orders, product info, pricing, and availability
Greet all customers professionally; resolve issues promptly or escalate as needed
Maintain a clean, organized counter and product display area
Sales & Product Knowledge
Upsell complementary products and convert requests to stocked brands where appropriate
Maintain deep product and industry knowledge; follow company pricing and credit guidelines
Assess customer needs to determine appropriate service level or escalation path
Teamwork & Standards
Build customer relationships; adapt approach to different customer types and needs
Collaborate with team, share best practices, and support a positive work environment
Follow all company procedures, policies, and Employee Handbook requirements
Other duties as assigned
Summary
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required
Product, applications, or wholesale distribution experience preferred
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for up to 8 hours daily
Able to stoop, bend, and reach inventory; work in indoor and outdoor environments
