This position is responsible for receiving and responding to inquiries from patrons, entering data into registration software
System, processing registration transactions and handling questions and concerns while engaging with the public throughout the facility. Serves as the first point of contact for Community Center visitors, creating a welcoming environment and proactively assisting with any customer service needs. Provides clerical and general office support to building staff. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the Park District. Work location and hours may vary; evening or weekend work may be required.

Pay & Schedule

$16.00 - $17.00 Per Hour, DOQ

This is a part-time, non-exempt position.

Weekday Evenings 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Weekends 8:00 AM -3:00 PM

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform registration operations using registration software to correctly enter registration data and process customer transactions; transactions are accepted online, via email, in-person or by mail.

Respond to telephone, in-person and email inquiries from patrons promptly and accurately; may assist with answering phones with inquiries for other Park District locations.

Accurately explains registration procedures and provides correct information regarding programs, classes, events and facilities.

Foster a welcoming environment for patrons at the front desk and throughout the facility.

Provide exceptional customer service by fielding patron questions and concerns, providing information, follow-up and resolution as required and relaying internal and external questions and concerns to appropriate staff and supervisors as necessary.

Accurately handle all monetary transactions and routinely run registration reports while following established cash handling procedures.

Readily assists with programming, class, or special event preparation and execution as needed.

Effectively provides a variety of clerical support functions to Supervisors and Managers, including typing, filing, copying and message handling.

Report any work-related or patron injuries or incidents to supervisor; report unsafe conditions to supervisor and correct if appropriate; complete accident/incident report forms as needed.

Diligently follows and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

Collaborate with internal and external customers in a positive manner.

Perform all job tasks in a safe manner.

Attend training and meetings as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service experience is preferred.

Skills & Abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Effectively learn and utilize software applications related to registration

Perform basic math computations to reconcile cash drawers

Effectively multitask

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Effectively communicate in telephone conversations; relaying messages that are clear and concise

Work with customers and co‐workers in a professional manner in stressful situations

Work independently and efficiently

CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within (3) months of hire

Knowledge

Office methods and procedures

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Cash‐handling procedures

District safety policies and procedures
