Bluewater Orthopedics is seeking full-time Medical Assistant. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing patients and ensuring that they have a positive experience during their office visit. This position will rotate between three facilities if needed.
Job Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for evaluation and management by reviewing pertinent patient information including patient medication on each visit.
- Answering telephones, taking messages, returning calls to patients
- Prescription management
- Chart preparation, responding to referral requests.
- Takes patient histories and vital signs and documents into EMR system.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary equipment/supplies for each patient’s visit.
- Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
- Assists physicians and physician assistants
- Ensuring that patients have all tests/studies/documentation completed before seeing the medical provider.
- Work is of high demand, walking and standing.
- Casting and splinting
- Removing sutures, staples
- Applying DME
Requirements:
- Must be willing and able to work assigned work schedule to specific to physician clinics.
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in Medical Office Assistant or equivalent preferred Minimum of one year work experience medical office environment.
- ATHENA EMR experience preferred.
- Previous medical office experience.
- Computer skills for accurate data entry.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Professionalism, good work ethic and engaging team member.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
