Main Duties & Responsibilities

Summary of Position:

Lead daily production operations on second shift to ensure on-time delivery, optimal cycle times, and scrap reduction targets are consistently achieved while maintaining high-quality standards. Ensure adherence to established procedures, with a strong focus on timely escalation, accurate defect tracking, and full compliance with BHR requirements.

Schedule:  Mondays - Fridays with some weekends as needed with hours of 3:30pm-12:00am.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and communicate the purpose, principles, and vision of the company
  • Know real-time status of items on the daily schedule and communicate as requested
  • Train and/or ensure training has been performed and is current for all associates on work instructions and SOP’s associated to their assignments before they are released; for example, ensure problem solving at the press and escalation procedures are followed
  • Verify that BHR’s are complete and accurate before, during and after production is complete
  • Ensure that work instruction, target sheet, traveler, interruption log, defective units and critical parameters sheets are at the press and being completed properly during the run
  • Ensure Epicor scanning is accurate and up to date with good product, scrap, and non-conforming quantities
  • Lead the daily shift meeting and ensure efforts are focused on commitments
  • Monitor product quality, scrap, and cycle times against target and resolve/escalate non-conformances
  • Daily performance tracking: report and review operation results daily with Director of Operations
  • Ensure compliance to cleanroom procedures and processes (portable, main, and assembly); includes completion of F-MFG-034
  • Conduct effective and timely training, and performance feedback for annual APDA’s
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of work environment (compliant with state & federal requirements)
  • Recommend and communicate working hours each week for direct reports
  • Minimize indirect labor and overtime
  • Awareness of regulatory and customer requirements as it pertains to Omega’s clients; especially for Omega’s medical clients (ref. ISO13485)
  • Other specified duties as assigned

Key Accountabilities:

  • Execute all items on the daily schedule
  • Maximize quality product output during the shift
  • Compliance with manufacturing procedures (emphasis on training, BHR, and work instructions)

Skills and Competencies:

Strong communication skills: verbal and written.  Working knowledge of Manufacturing ERP system, preferably Epicor, as well as Word and Excel, a plus. Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines. Excellent problem resolution skills. Demonstrate the ability to lead a team while living out Omega’s principles.

Work Environment:

Work performed in a manufacturing plant and cleanroom environment. Requires the ability to move around an office and manufacturing environment.  This role involves occasional work on a computer.  Frequently exposed to varying temperatures within the plant. Noise levels may be loud at times.  Frequently walks, stands, grips/grasps, bends/stoops, crouches, and lifts and carries up to thirty (30) lbs.

This role is required to be on-site 5-6 days at the Clinton Township, MI location.

Qualifications

Work experience requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a plastic injection molding manufacturing facility
  • 2+ years’ supervisory experience

Compensation:

 The expected pay range for this position is $28.00-$31.00/hour. This shift qualifies for a shift premium.
