Responsibilities

Noblis is seeking a highly motivated Biosurveillance Analyst to address threat recognition and analysis for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Threat understanding at its earliest point possible is critical to driving counter activities employed by DHS components and partners, and protecting the U.S. population and assets from naturally-occurring and man-made threats.

 

If you are interested in this exciting opportunity to help develop and advance DHS’s capabilities in the threat detection space, we are actively seeking to identify personnel to join our team of talented professionals who possess the experience, vision, commitment and integrity to successfully support the mission.  Responsibilities include:

  • Technical writing and crafting of analytical products on global biosurveillance-relevant events and topics.
  • Techical review of reports and other products on public health related topics.
  • Briefing CWMD federal staff, interagency partners and other stakeholders on biological events of interest.
  • Innovating around new processes and products to enhance early detection and improved analysis of biological threats globally. 
  • Training and mentoring new analysts and assisting with updating and maintenance of the operational biosurveillance training program.
  • Data analyses of infectious disease activity to investigate key characteristics and other information targets designated by the government.

Required Qualifications

  • Active SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security suitability.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or other relevant advanced degree.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience to the responsibilities described for this role.
  • Well organized, critical thinker, exceptional customer service skills for engaging with federal government clients.
  • Ability to work tasks autonomously and follow through to completion.
  • Ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests.
  • Competence to function efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding work environment focused on improving health security and threat recognition. 
  • Must be able to work on the client site as needed in Washington D.C.  

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous professional work with federal, state and/or local governments entities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health security, public health, and workforce protection.
  • Previous professional experience serving as a technical editor.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.



Posted Salary Range

USD $78,900.00 - USD $123,300.00 /Yr.
