About this role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Receive and inspect food, nutrition supplies, and other inventory deliveries for accuracy, quantity, quality, and damage.
· Order food and nutrition supplies from approved vendors, food trucks, and delivery services as directed.
· Coordinate and track food truck and delivery orders to ensure supplies arrive on schedule.
· Deliver nutrition supplies and floor stock to assigned hospital units, nursing stations, and other designated areas.
· Maintain adequate floor stock levels and restock items as needed.
· Monitor inventory and identify items that need to be reordered.
· Rotate food and nutrition products using appropriate first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures.
· Check expiration dates and remove expired or damaged products according to hospital procedures.
· Properly store food and nutrition supplies in designated storage areas.
· Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage rooms, refrigerators, freezers, and supply areas.
· Accurately document received, issued, and discarded inventory.
· Assist with inventory counts and periodic audits.
· Communicate shortages, delivery issues, damaged products, and inventory concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
· Follow hospital food safety, infection prevention, sanitation, and workplace safety policies.
· Handle food and supplies in accordance with applicable hospital and regulatory requirements.
· Provide courteous and professional service to nursing units, clinical staff, vendors, delivery personnel, and other hospital employees.
· Perform other duties related to hospital store and nutrition inventory operations as assigned.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare, dietary, warehouse, stockroom, grocery, food service, or inventory environment preferred.
· Basic computer and inventory-management skills.
· Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and outside vendors.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Knowledge of food safety and proper food-storage practices is preferred.
