Senior Software Engineer (C++/Rust)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cove Data Protection product engineering team. Cove Data Protection is a cloud-first backup solution used by managed service providers and enterprise IT organizations worldwide.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced C++ engineer who is passionate about building highly scalable, resilient systems and is eager to expand their expertise in Rust. As part of our long-term technology strategy, you will play a key role in evolving critical platform components while working with modern technologies and contributing to the growth of our Rust codebase.

 

You will join an international engineering team developing Disaster Recovery services and core platform capabilities. The team is responsible for designing and delivering high-performance backend services that power the protection and recovery of customer data at scale.

 

Our platform includes web-based management experiences backed by distributed services deployed in AWS and Kubernetes environments. As we continue modernizing our architecture, Rust is becoming an increasingly important part of our technology stack, offering exciting opportunities to work on performance-critical and reliability-focused solutions.

 

We rely heavily on automated testing, continuous integration, code reviews, and collaborative engineering practices to maintain a high level of quality and reliability. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, takes ownership of their work, and is excited about learning new technologies while helping shape the future of our platform.

What You'll Do

• Learn, contribute to, and gradually take ownership of services developed in Rust

• Participate in the modernization of existing platform capabilities and architecture

• Design and implement scalable APIs and distributed system components

• Help define and deliver valuable, testable, and maintainable user stories

• Write high-quality, well-tested code supported by automated unit and integration tests

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production and performance issues

• Contribute to performance optimization, reliability improvements, and system scalability initiatives

• Collaborate with engineers across multiple teams to deliver strategic platform enhancements

• Create and maintain technical documentation

What You'll Bring

• Strong professional experience developing software in C++

• Interest and willingness to learn and work extensively with Rust

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and modern development practices

• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications

• Strong knowledge of design principles and patterns, including SOLID and test-driven development practices

• Experience working with distributed systems, microservices, or cloud-native applications

• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end testing)

• Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security fundamentals

• Experience working with relational databases and data persistence technologies

• Familiarity with REST APIs and modern service-oriented architectures

• Experience with containerized environments and cloud platforms is a plus

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

This position has a base monthly salary starting from 21,000.00 PLN gross. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is also eligible for a bonus
