About the Role:
As a Volunteer with enCompass, you will play an important role in supporting individuals, families, and communities through a variety of programs and services. Volunteers contribute to creating welcoming, inclusive, and supportive experiences for those accessing enCompass services. Depending on organizational needs and your interests, you may assist with community events, administrative tasks, program activities, client support initiatives, or special projects.
Working alongside staff and fellow volunteers, you will help strengthen connections within the community and support enCompass’s mission of enhancing well-being and quality of life. Your time, skills, and commitment will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve while helping build a more connected and resilient community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to commit a minimum number of hours per week as agreed upon.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to undergo any required background checks or screenings.
- Basic proficiency in English to interact effectively within the community.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous volunteer or community service experience.
- Multilingual abilities to support diverse populations.
- Familiarity with local community resources and organizations.
- Experience in event planning or coordination.
- First aid certification or relevant safety training.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and executing community events and programs.
- Provide direct support to beneficiaries, including guidance, information, and encouragement.
- Collaborate with team members to plan activities and manage resources effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and activities.
- Communicate regularly with coordinators to report progress and address any challenges.
Skills:
Volunteers at enCompass use strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with clients, community members, staff, and fellow volunteers. The ability to listen with empathy, demonstrate compassion, and interact respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential. Organizational and time-management skills help volunteers effectively support programs, events, and day-to-day operations.
Flexibility and problem-solving skills are valuable when responding to changing needs and supporting a variety of activities. Volunteers should be dependable, professional, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
