Financial Operations Specialist

Role Overview

• The FinOps Specialist is a key role within the Finance team responsible for strengthening financial operations, improving process efficiency, enhancing financial controls, and enabling better business decision-making through data-driven insights.

• This role will partner closely with Finance and cross-functional teams to build scalable processes, identify operational improvements, support strategic initiatives, and drive greater visibility and control across business operations.

• The ideal candidate will combine strong financial fundamentals with a process improvement mindset, analytical capability, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth e-commerce environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Financial Operations & Process Improvement: Support the design, implementation, and optimization of financial and operational processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and support the implementation of solutions.

• Financial Controls & Governance: Develop and maintain financial and operational policies, procedures, and internal controls. Prepare Risk Control Matrices, perform gap analysis, and recommend improvements to strengthen governance and compliance.

• Financial Analysis & Business Insights: Support financial analysis, reporting, and performance tracking to enable data-driven decision-making. Prepare insights and recommendations for business stakeholders and senior management.

• Process Automation & Scalability: Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve workflows using available tools and technology. Support initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Operations, Technology, and other business teams to drive process improvements, support strategic projects, and ensure successful execution of business initiatives.

• Strategic Initiatives: Actively participate in finance transformation projects, special assignments, and business improvement initiatives as required.

What You’ll Need

Experience

• The Foundation: 2+ years of post-qualification experience in finance, financial operations, business finance, internal audit or related roles.

• The Background: Experience in consumer-focused businesses, e-commerce, FMCG, retail, or high-growth environments is preferred.

• The Track Record: Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, process improvement, reporting, and working with cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualification

• Education: MBA / CA / CPA / ICAEW qualification preferred.

• Analytical & Technical Capability: Strong financial analysis and modelling skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. SQL knowledge and experience with financial systems, reporting tools, or automation platforms are a plus.
