As the Clinical Compliance Nurse Auditor, you'll help ensure our clinical documentation reflects the exceptional care our teams provide while supporting regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and ongoing staff development.

What You'll Do

• Conduct routine, focused, and for-cause clinical compliance audits using established audit tools and methodologies.
• Review medical records to ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, accreditation standards, and Mountain Valley policies.
• Identify documentation gaps, regulatory risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze audit findings to identify recurring issues and compliance risks across clinical disciplines.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to develop, implement, and monitor corrective action plans.
• Perform follow-up audits to validate corrective actions and measure sustained improvement.
• Provide real-time coaching and role-specific education to clinicians on documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with survey readiness by promoting consistent documentation and compliance practices throughout the organization.
• Maintain accurate audit documentation and prepare reports that support quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (Virginia license or eligibility preferred).
• Minimum of three years of hospice or home health nursing experience.
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, CMS Conditions of Participation, and clinical documentation requirements.
• Experience in clinical auditing, quality improvement, compliance, accreditation, or survey readiness preferred.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
