About this role
This role is responsible for leading corporate accounting and reporting activities for Morrison, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely financial reporting while driving best practice and process improvement. Key duties include month-end consolidation, statutory reporting, audit coordination, financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting support, business partnering, internal controls, tax compliance support and team leadership. The successful candidate should be a qualified Chartered Accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge, commercial acumen, advanced Excel and systems capability, and excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills.
About the Role
- Lead Morrison’s corporate accounting and reporting activities across the Group.
- Ensure accurate, compliant and timely financial information.
- Manage month-end consolidation, financial and management reporting, and statutory financial statement preparation.
- Coordinate audit activities and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Partner with key stakeholders to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
- Drive process improvement, maintain internal controls, support tax compliance, and make effective use of finance systems.
- Develop junior team members and contribute to a strong team culture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally be:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CAANZ or equivalent), ideally with Big 4 and/or corporate experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with sound business and commercial acumen.
- Confident working with complex financial information, advanced Excel and financial systems.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders and broader teams.
- High-performing, proactive and motivated to deliver exceptional outcomes.
