About the Role

In this newly created position of Director, Legal, you will join a team of senior legal professionals, providing and arranging legal advice for the Morrison group, with a particular focus on advising on investment origination, asset management and divestment activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a member of the deal team, managing external legal advisers, and advising on legal documents and structures for (primarily) private market transactions.
  • Leading legal workstreams, including managing legal due diligence, negotiating transaction documentation, structuring, shareholder / consortium arrangements, debt financing and regulatory approvals.
  • Managing external legal advisers and coordinating legal inputs with investment, asset management and operational teams.
  • Advising on early-stage transaction documents, such as NBIOs, term sheets and framework agreements.
  • Supporting portfolio entity and asset management activities, including bolt-on acquisitions, refinancings, disputes, management incentive arrangements and shareholder matters.
  • Providing general legal advice across the Morrison group, contributing to legal precedents and knowledge-sharing, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and external providers.


About You

  • Senior corporate/M&A lawyer with 8+ years’ post-qualification experience and admission to practise in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Strong M&A, corporate, commercial and transaction execution experience, ideally across private markets, energy / infrastructure, asset management and/or cross-border transactions.
  • Proven ability to lead complex legal workstreams, work independently, manage external counsel and provide clear, commercial recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent technical legal skills, negotiation capability, legal risk judgment, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-oriented, with confidence operating in fast-moving, high-intensity transaction environments.
  • Collaborative and relationship-focused, with strong interpersonal skills and a “one team” approach.
  • Highly organised and disciplined, with sound judgment on materiality, escalation and risk trade-offs across multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • Curious, improvement-oriented and motivated by working in a supportive, high-performing environment.
