Program Physician (0.8 FTE) – Home-Based Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Your Role...

As a Program Physician (0.8 FTE) in our Home-Based Pulmonary Rehabilitation program, you will provide physician services and clinical oversight for patients participating in Morlen Health’s virtual pulmonary rehabilitation program. You will review referrals for clinical appropriateness, conduct physician intake assessments, establish or confirm patient plans of care, and provide physician supervision and consultation throughout the rehabilitation experience.

Working closely with respiratory therapists, the Medical Director, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team, you will apply independent clinical judgment while supporting safe, effective, patient-centered care. You will also help ensure consistent clinical documentation, coordinated care delivery, and adherence to established clinical standards and protocols.

All remote positions are based in the United States, and candidates must reside within the U.S. to be eligible for consideration.

In This Role, You Will...

  • Review patient referrals and clinical information and conduct comprehensive physician intake assessments to determine appropriateness for participation in the HBPR program.
  • Establish or confirm physician-directed plans of care based on each patient’s clinical condition, rehabilitation needs, functional status, and treatment goals.
  • Apply independent clinical judgment to patient participation and changes in condition, including determining when services should continue, be modified, placed on hold, escalated, or discontinued.
  • Provide physician supervision, consultation, and clinical direction to respiratory therapists and other designated clinical team members supporting pulmonary rehabilitation services.
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapists, referring providers, specialists, and other members of the care team to coordinate care and address clinical concerns.
  • Complete accurate and timely physician documentation to support continuity of care, medical necessity, coding, billing, and other program requirements.
  • Participate in clinical case discussions, quality activities, and continuous improvement efforts, providing physician perspective on patient care, workflows, protocols, and program delivery.
  • Foster a respectful and collaborative environment through professional, constructive, and solution-oriented communication.

What You Need to Be Successful...

  • MD or DO with completion of an accredited residency program.
  • Board certified or board eligible in an appropriate medical specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Cardiology, or Pulmonology).
  • Current, active, and unrestricted medical license, with the ability to obtain and maintain additional state licensure, credentialing, privileging, and payer enrollment as needed to support assigned patient populations.
  • Clinical experience evaluating and managing patients with pulmonary disease and/or patient populations relevant to pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Experience conducting physician assessments, developing or managing plans of care, and collaborating with interdisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, collaboration, accountability, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Experience with virtual care, telehealth, home-based care, digital health, remote patient care, or other technology-enabled care-delivery models.
  • Experience working with respiratory therapists and patients with chronic pulmonary conditions.

Your Compensation...

The hourly pay range for this position is $130.00–$145.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as an applicant’s skills and qualifications, education and certifications, training, relevant clinical experience, market data, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
