Moody Bible Institute is seeking an engaging and student-focused Adjunct Faculty Member in College Math for Elementary Teaching to prepare future educators for success in both the classroom and the Illinois teacher licensure exam. We are looking for an instructor who combines strong mathematical expertise with a passion for teaching and mentoring students, helping them develop the foundational knowledge, reasoning skills, and confidence needed to succeed as future teachers.
The ideal candidate is an effective communicator who can make mathematical concepts accessible, provide clear and systematic instruction, and foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student growth and achievement.

The Opportunity
The Adjunct Faculty Member will teach College Math for Elementary Teaching (ISBE), an undergraduate course designed to strengthen students' mathematical understanding and prepare them for the professional content knowledge required for teacher licensure.
The instructor will provide engaging classroom instruction, assess student learning, and support students as they develop the mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills necessary for future success as educators.
What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality instruction for undergraduate students enrolled in College Math for Elementary Teaching.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Assess student learning through assignments, examinations, and other evaluation methods.
- Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that supports student success.
- Maintain accurate course records, grades, and documentation.
- Adhere to institutional policies, academic standards, and course outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with students and academic leadership.
- Perform other instructional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Education, or a related field.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong knowledge of college-level mathematics concepts and applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate mathematical concepts to diverse learners.
- Commitment to student success, academic excellence, and Christian higher education.
- Alignment with Moody Bible Institute's Doctrinal Statement.
Preferred
- Teaching experience in mathematics at the high school or college level.
- Experience preparing students for standardized assessments or teacher licensure examinations.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and support students with varying levels of mathematical preparedness.
- Experience using effective instructional and assessment strategies that support student achievement.
Work Environment
- This is a part-time adjunct faculty position located on Moody Bible Institute's Chicago campus.
- In-person instruction is required.
- Classes meet two days per week for 1 hour and 15 minutes per class session.
- Appointment is anticipated for the Spring 2027 semester (January through May, 16 weeks).
