About this role
You are responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs that incorporate MM best practices. You adhere to all safety practices according to company procedures and local regulations.
- You provide quick, effective repairs; inspect, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure they are always in proper working order.
- You perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on all manufacturing and facility equipment as needed, focusing primarily on electronics and controls.
- You support the installation and start-up of manufacturing equipment.
- You work closely with production personnel to resolve machine issues and improve productivity, machine availability, and quality.
- You take on projects to build or modify equipment.
- You perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment.
- You troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns.
- You ensure all guards are in place and equipment is safe to operate.
- You observe the functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair, and/or replacement of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
- You discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with the Facility & Maintenance Supervisor.
- You read and understand electronic and electrical schematics and draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
- You recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- You understand and are able to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment and computer-based controllers.
- You conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototype or production models.
- You analyze and interpret data from controllers, scope meters, and other troubleshooting equipment.
- You adjust, calibrate, and align circuitry and components and record the effects on unit performance.
- You perform all duties, including maintaining work area cleanliness, so that MM reaches its goal of zero accidents in the workplace.
- You work closely with production personnel to solve machine issues and improve productivity and quality.
- You perform all tasks and duties in a way that minimizes machine downtime and optimizes the use of resources and materials so that MM reaches its profitability goals.
- You recommend mechanical and electrical parts replacements and request replenishment orders when inventory levels are low or depleted.
- You follow company policies and procedures in an exemplary manner.
- You work in collaboration with team leaders, coordinators, and managers to ensure the plant achieves its objectives for quality, delivery, safety, innovation, profitability, and total customer satisfaction.
- You maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- You need to have an Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics or Electro-Mechanics from an accredited university.
- You need to have a minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in a fast-paced environment such as the Printing, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Electronics industry.
- You need to be proficient in Spanish and able to read and understand English.
- You need to have computer skills in CMMS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), RS Logix, and COGNEX
