Supported Employment DSP

Misericordia Heart of Mercy is a home to over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities. Misericordia offers a community of care that maximizes potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities, many of whom are also physically challenged.

Misericordia's Community Day Services program is currently hiring for a Supported Employment Direct Support Professional (DSP).

The CDS Supported Employment DSP helps CDS participants increase their independence while they are engaged in community employment opportunities. Candidates should be comfortable interacting with employers and the public. This position requires candidates to drive frequently with participants and may also include supporting participants in other community- based opportunities.

• Has a valid driver’s license, good driving record and comfortable driving vehicles of all sizes
• A minimum of one year experience supporting person with intellectual disabilities
• HSD/GED required
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Ability to interact with community members off campus with ease and confidence
• A high degree of professionalism and can represent Misericordia and our values in the community
• A minimum of one year experience supporting person with intellectual disabilities
• The ability to be self-directed and strong organizational skills
• The ability to work with individuals with a variety of intellectual disabilities
• In good standing with regards to Misericordia policies
• Able to demonstrate flexibility
• Ability to work effectively with CDS staff
• Ability to meet the essential functions of the CDS DSP job description
• Committed to ensuring the rights and highest quality of life for the residents

Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, based on the need of the employment opportunity, hours could vary from 7am-5pm

Pay: $20.00-21.00 an hour
