About this role
About Mimo
Mimo is an AI-native platform for accounting firms. We automate the recurring work inside the monthly close, from chasing client documents and reconciling transactions to posting adjustments and reviewing VAT before it is filed, so accountants spend their time on judgement instead of admin.
Accounting is being rebuilt around AI right now. We intend to be the ones who rebuild it, and to help the firms that get there first do the best work of their careers. We are a team of 35 across Stockholm and London, backed by top European investors including Northzone and Project A, growing rapidly across the UK's top 10-250 firms, with new markets next.
The role
Accounting is one of the few domains where an agent's output can be checked against ground truth. The books either reconcile or they don't. That makes it one of the best problems in applied AI right now, and one of the hardest, because being right most of the time is not good enough when the work gets filed.
We're now looking for a senior engineer to build that system with us. You'll design the agents that detect anomalies, categorise documents and post adjustments, and the eval infrastructure that proves they can be trusted. You'll work from our office in central Stockholm with an experienced team, on a product that firms are adopting quickly, and you'll own decisions that shape our AI stack for years.
Compensation: market rate salary, retirement contribution and stock options
Holidays: 30 days per year
What you will do
Design and implement LLM-powered workflows to automate finance and accounting tasks like detecting anomalies in books, scanning and categorising financial documents like invoices and credit notes.
Build benchmark/eval suites to systematically develop a system of agents to conduct accounting tasks.
Own user feedback loops and store data in a structured manner for LLM consumption.
Shape and evolve our AI stack, continuously researching and implementing the best solutions for our use cases.
Collaborate with other engineers, product and design teams to deliver seamless consumer grade experiences to customers.
Contribute across the stack to get the work done, when needed. Our tech stack is Go, Typescript, Python, Postgres and GCP.
What we're looking for
Technical skills
Senior or staff level engineering experience at product companies
Practical understanding of vector stores, RAG, context engineering and other techniques used in building AI agents
A strong grasp of machine learning concepts, LLMs, and the libraries and frameworks commonly used in agent development
Experience evaluating the performance and outputs of AI systems
Comfortable in a Go or Python codebase and with cloud infrastructure. We use GCP, but AWS and Azure experience is welcome
How you work
You prioritise shipping over perfecting. We prioritise ruthlessly and have a bias for shipping and collecting feedback early
You collaborate with product and design to deliver seamless AI experiences
You have a strong sense of ownership
Bonus
Familiarity with Temporal or other background workflow orchestrators.
Comfortable working with financial or accounting data, or excited to learn the domain quickly
Open-source contributions, side projects, or genuine curiosity about technology
