All branch employees are scheduled weekly to ensure branch hours are properly staffed: Monday - Wednesday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Thursday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Position Summary:
Drive branch performance, sales growth and positive member experiences by creating a member-centric culture as the primary manager of and mentor to branch employees. Ensure the branch operates in a safe and secure manner, including daily balancing and conforming with all security requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage day-to-day operations and supervise the branch including:
- Oversee hiring/terminating/reviews, ensure employee development through regular coaching, recommend, and oversee Individual Development Plans as appropriate.
- Monitor monthly attestations to ensure employees meet requirements.
- Provide approvals and system overrides for branch transactions in excess of employee limits.
- Escalation point for resolution of service issues and member complaints, ensuring all issues are resolved appropriately.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings and daily sales huddles to communicate operations, sales and service items.
- Oversee branch budget to stay within expected variances; respond to any variances outside of expectations. Monitor branch tracking reports to ensure budget targets are being met.
- Develop individual and branch sales goals; oversee sales activities of branch staff including cross selling appropriate products, answering inquiries and informing members of new services and product promotions to ensure sales goals are met. Monitor Sales Referral System to ensure staff makes effective referrals to retail partners.
- Oversee branch schedules and daily tasks including coordinating with Service Management to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Perform monthly security audits. Oversee branch audit responses from external audit reviews; review and submit quarterly audit package and branch security signal.
- Oversee branch vault cash, recyclers, and automated teller machines (ATMs) to ensure cash levels are appropriate and equipment is properly balanced.
- Monitor and close assigned branch/individual contact events, hold employees with repeat offenses accountable, and provide additional coaching as needed.
- Assist members with account openings and daily financial transactions;
- Oversee branch employee activities including verification that all account opening requirements have been met, required signatures and paperwork have been completed within appropriate security clearances.
- Schedule and perform loan interviews, aid members in completion of loan applications, collect required documents and ensuring approval conditions are met.
- Open consumer deposit accounts for members including for businesses and trusts.
- Process variety of transactions including check cashing, deposits/withdrawals, loan payments and payoffs, official checks and money orders, cash advances, etc. as needed.
- Respond to escalated member inquiries and provide information relative to Mero Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Maintain branch security, ensure member confidence, and protect bank operations by keeping member information confidential.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage staff including Assistant Branch Managers, Sales and Service Supervisors, Sales and Service Representatives, and Member Service Coordinators.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in business administration or related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of banking experience strongly preferred.
- Previous sales management experience strongly preferred.
- Maintain an active mortgage loan originator (“MLO”) license with the National Mortgage Loan Service registry according to the credit union’s Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing (“S.A.F.E.”) Act policy and procedures strongly preferred.
- Notary Public strongly preferred.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work performed.
- Ability to problem solve and work independently.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of web browsers and office software product suite.
All retail positions located within our branches do not offer remote work arrangements and require initial training on-site in our Chelsea location.
