About this role

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Part-time Food Service Associate at George School, a boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12 in Newtown, PA.

  • Must be available to work Part-time as follows: Monday-Friday 6a-1:30p OR 4p-8:30p, with some weekends 


What the Food Service Associate will do:   

  • Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude  
  • Help oversee that catering activities run smoothly
  • Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner  
  • Transport food and supplies to the serving area: assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of dining, food-serving, and beverage areas.  
  • Serves and replenishes food from food counters and steam tables.  
  • Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.  
  • Keeps dining room areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized  
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods  
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments  
  • Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.  
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
       

What the Food Service Associate will need:   

  • 1-2 years of related food service experience  
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent   
  • Excellent communication, good organizational skills 
  • Ability to converse with the faculty, students, and staff with ease
  • Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and job duties  
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred.  
  • Reliable Transportation
