Mercury Systems seeks a Director of Program Management for its Compute Line of Business within the Processing Technologies Business Unit. As a senior leader in the business, you will collaborate to deliver leading edge microelectronics that are game changing and impactful to our nation’s defense. The Director of Program Management is a senior leader responsible for driving program excellence across the embedded computing portfolio within the Processing Technologies Business Unit. This role oversees cost, schedule, technical execution, and customer engagement for a diverse and complex portfolio.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of a team that is transforming our business and the defense-grade microelectronics industry while executing on near-term execution commitments and fostering a culture of teamwork and agility. This position will require a proven leader who is accomplished at overcoming challenges, managing a direct and indirect team of program managers, leading in a matrix work environment, and maintaining excellent customer relationships while growing the business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive leadership for the product execution team, overseeing lifecycle activities from early capture through sustainment.
  • Drive a high-performing culture focused on accountability and predictable delivery.
  • Own all aspects of program performance, including financial, technical, and schedule commitments.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and other functions to execute technology roadmaps.
  • Work with Engineering and New Product Introduction teams to develop IRAD and proposals to ensure transition to programs is seamless.
  • Support capture activities, proposals, and pursuit strategies.
  • Manage WBS, schedules, baselines, risks, costs, and pricing.
  • Maintain strong customer and supplier relationships.
  • Deliver clear and confident executive-level presentations.
  • Coordinate transition of IRAD efforts into executable programs.
  • Apply analytical capabilities to drive sound decisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years direct Program Management experience, preferably in aerospace/defense.
  • Experience as a seasoned leader with a strong technical foundation in advanced aerospace technologies, you have a proven track record of driving innovation and growth in complex and dynamic environments.
  • Strong leadership skills in a matrixed organization, with demonstrated ability to coach and mentor.
  • Experience managing program portfolios and the financial obligations.
  • Expertise in navigating ambiguity, influencing stakeholder groups, and leading high-performing teams with agility and precision.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present executive- level briefings.
  • Strategic thinker with capacity to manage business complexity, identify top priorities and lead team execution of those priorities.
  • Ability to travel 30% between sites and customer locations.
  • Preferred locations: Andover, MA or Hudson NH is preferred
  • S. citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline or MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing OpEx, CapEx, IRAD, SG&A, and strategic growth of a portfolio of programs/products.
  • Experience managing heterogeneous product/program portfolios.
  • Ability to lead high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated success building strong customer relationships.

This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
