About this role
The Database Administrator will own the health, accuracy, and performance of databases across a multi-system, multi-location business. The Database Administrator will map how data flows between our CRM, ERP, e-commerce, and other platforms, keeping them accurate and compliant every step of the way, and act as a trusted steward of the company's data.
Salary: $79,350.00
About you: You're obsessed with data accuracy and data health — “close enough” isn't good enough. You're a big-picture thinker who wants to help shape where our data infrastructure goes next, a collaborative team player who connects easily with both technical and business teams, and someone who understands the business, not just the systems behind it.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Maintain the performance, accuracy, and availability of our SQL Server databases.
- Design data architecture and data mapping for system changes, migrations, and integrations (for CRM, ERP, etc.)
- Build deep knowledge of our data — where it lives, how it's structured, and how it moves across systems and formats (CSV, JSON, XML, EDI, APIs, etc.).
- Support accurate data sharing between our platforms, tools, and business partners, using various transfer methods.
- Act as a data steward: define, document, and uphold data quality and ownership standards.
- Ensure data handling meets privacy and compliance requirements.
- Write and optimize complex T-SQL (stored procedures, functions, indexing, query plans).
- Maintain high-availability and disaster recovery strategies, including backups and failovers.
- Build and monitor data quality checks and pipeline orchestration across systems.
- Set up monitoring/alerting for database and pipeline performance.
- Support CDP and identity resolution initiatives.
- Maintain database security controls (access, encryption, auditing) and basic automation scripting).
- Document configurations, data flows, mappings, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 5+ years in a DBA or data architecture/engineering role.
- Strong SQL Server experience and advanced T-SQL/query optimization skills.
- Experience with data mapping across system migrations or integrations.
- Experience with CRM, ERP, and e-commerce data.
- Understanding of data stewardship, governance, and privacy/compliance basics.
- Experience with HA/DR and database security fundamentals.
- Strong communicator, able to bridge technical and business audiences.
Assets:
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Pipeline orchestration tools (SSIS, ADF, Airflow, dbt, or similar).
- Awareness of cross-border privacy rules (e.g., GDPR, Quebec's Law 25).
- Exposure to CI/CD for database changes (Flyway, Liquibase, Azure DevOps).
