We are looking for a skilled Paint Technician, someone who takes pride in clean prep work, smooth finishes, accurate color matching, and high-quality results. If you have real-world experience with painting, light body work, surface preparation, or equipment refinishing, we want to hear from you. Formal education is helpful, but hands-on experience, craftsmanship, safety awareness, and a strong work ethic matter most in this role.

What you will do (essential job functions):

  • Safely and efficiently operate all equipment including grinders, sanders, and spray equipment
  • Surface preparation including pressure washing, cleaning, grinding, sandblasting and degreasing
  • Light body work including dent removal and application/finish of body filler
  • Masking and taping in preparation for paint
  • Mix paint to match existing or according to customer specifications
  • Apply paint application effectively while meeting quality standards
  • Apply all appropriate decals and post-paint accessories
  • Ensure all work areas and equipment is clean and properly maintained
  • Ensure all safety and environmental standards are met, including the proper use and care of all PPE

What We’re Looking For

Experience comes first. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, but it is not the most important qualification. We are most interested in candidates who can demonstrate hands-on ability, attention to detail, safe work habits, and pride in doing the job right.

You may be a great fit if you have experience with:

  • Knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and application techniques
  • Experience in paint application, body work, and medium/heavy duty equipment repair, a plus
  • Understanding of body repair techniques and processes
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental standards in paint and body work
  • Understanding of work truck and utility equipment specifications and requirements
  • Proficiency in using computerized paint mixing systems and inventory management software

Physical Requirements: 

  • The ability to wear the appropriate PPE for the job task performed. (All technicians are required to wear safety toed shoes and safety glasses. Painters/ welders are required to wear either PAPRs or full-face respirators and must complete an OSHA medical evaluation/ spirometry test annually.)
  • The ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch while also utilizing tools
  • The ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, or work platforms
  • May lift up to 25-50lbs and/or move up to 50lbs with assistive devices
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather
  • Must be able to operate in noisy environments (≥85 Db)
