• Own the shadow P&L of the trade finance vertical, inclusive of new deal revenue targets, pipeline growth, account expansion, win rate on stretgic pursuits and client net retention across priority geographies
• Lead vertical growth strategy — identify market opportunities, define winning propositions, and build a roadmap for scaling the trade finance business across priority geographies.
• Translate market and client intelligence into product direction — participate actively in roadmap prioritization sessions, win/loss debriefs, and product discovery cycles with the CPO and engineering leadership; ensuring commercial and competitive inputs are embedded in product decisions, not delivered after the fact.
• Engage directly with C-suite and senior stakeholders at client organizations to build deep relationships, understand evolving needs, and position as a long-term strategic partner in their trade finance operations
• Drive deal wins by working closely with the sales and pre-sales organization — solutioning workshops, shaping propositions, supporting large pursuits, and ensuring trade finance solutions are positioned competitively
• Collaborate with the CAIO to identify high-impact AI use cases within trade finance and ensure intelligent capabilities are embedded into core trade workflows — document digitization, compliance validation, risk scoring, and exception handling.
• Build external presence in the trade finance market - Act as the primary external face of  trade finance business — representing the vertical at industry forums, client events, and analyst engagements.
• Own go-to-market strategy - Develop and refine go-to-market packaging, solution narratives, and competitive positioning for the trade finance vertical across target markets.
• Drive alignment across the CPO, CAIO, Sales, and Delivery organizations to ensure the trade finance vertical executes with coherence and speed.

Requirements

• 20+ years in trade finance across banks, fintechs, or enterprise platform providers — with a career arc that moves from technical/product foundations to commercial leadership.
• Demonstrated ownership of shadow P&L or revenue targets for a trade finance vertical / banking vertical, with a measurable track record of driving business growth — not just influencing outcomes, but directly accountable for performance.
• Techno-commercial profile with early career grounding in engineering, product development, or technology delivery — credibility in having built or shipped product before transitioning into commercial and strategic leadership.
• Deep expertise in trade finance products — letters of credit, guarantees, collections, and supply chain finance — and a strong understanding of how banks and FIs buy, implement, and scale these solutions.
• Experience engaging and influencing C-suite stakeholders at tier-1 banks and large financial institutions.
• Strong understanding of global trade finance regulations and operations — UCP, AML, sanctions, KYC.
• Strong commercial acumen — pricing, packaging, deal structuring, and GTM strategy.
