The Assistant Vice President – Managed Legal Services will serve a senior leader in delivery organization and will be responsible for building exceptional client relationships while leading the end-to-end delivery of managed legal services engagements. This role combines client engagement, solution design, project management, delivery leadership, technology adoption, people development, and operational excellence. We are looking for a leader who is equally comfortable presenting to clients, designing solutions, leading teams, reviewing legal work, mentoring colleagues, and driving successful project execution. This is a hands-on leadership role. We expect our leaders to lead by example, remain close to the work, and actively contribute wherever required.


 Partner with Business Development during client discussions, discovery sessions, and solution workshops.
 Understand client requirements and design practical, scalable delivery solutions.
 Prepare project estimates, staffing models, Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals, and implementation plans.
 Build trusted relationships with clients and serve as a strategic delivery partner throughout the engagement lifecycle.
 Lead multiple managed legal services engagements across areas such as Litigation Support, eDiscovery, Document Review, Contract Lifecycle Management, Contract Abstraction, Contract Remediation, Due Diligence, Compliance, Investigations, Legal Operations, and other legal projects.
 Develop project plans, resource plans, quality plans, communication plans, and delivery governance frameworks.
 Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
 Monitor delivery risks, proactively manage scope changes, and ensure appropriate change management and client communication.
 Own project estimation and delivery budgeting, working closely with Finance for commercial approvals.
 Track project performance against approved budgets and delivery plans throughout the engagement.
 Monitor utilization, productivity, quality, timelines, and delivery KPIs while ensuring commercial discipline and operational excellence.

Requirements

 12–18 years of experience in delivering managed legal services in an SLA driven environment from an ALSP or legal services company.
 Demonstrated experience managing global client engagements and leading crossfunctional delivery teams.
 Strong experience in project management, client relationship management, solution design, estimation, and delivery governance.
 Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements in a fast-paced environment.
 Deep understanding of legal service delivery models, emerging legal technologies, and the impact of AI on legal services.
 Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) – Mandatory.
 PMP or equivalent Project Management certification – Preferred.


Working knowledge of leading legal technology platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, Everlaw, Ironclad, Leah, Harvey, Legora, and other AI-enabled legal solutions will be an advantage. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in leveraging technology and AI to transform legal service delivery.
