Responsibilities

The HRIS Systems Developer is responsible for leading the implementation of Margaritaville at Sea's first Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for shipboard operations. This role's primary focus is the successful selection, integration, and adoption of an HRIS platform that will modernize and streamline HR processes across the shipboard operation and organization. Following implementation, the role will serve as the system owner, overseeing ongoing enhancements, data integrity, reporting, and system performance.

Working closely with Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology, Payroll, Finance, and third-party vendors, the HRIS Systems Developer will build and maintain a comprehensive HR technology infrastructure that supports organizational growth and an exceptional employee experience.

Essential Functions

HRIS Implementation & System Ownership: Lead the implementation of Margaritaville at Sea's first Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for shipboard operations, including requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, deployment, and user adoption. Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for the HRIS, ensuring the platform aligns with business objectives, supports operational needs, and delivers a seamless employee experience.

System Configuration & Administration: Configure, maintain, and optimize HRIS modules, workflows, security roles, approval processes, and business rules to meet organizational requirements. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, coordinate resolutions with vendors and internal stakeholders, and oversee system upgrades and enhancements to ensure ongoing functionality and effectiveness.

Data Management & Reporting: Develop and maintain integrations between the HRIS and related platforms, including payroll, benefits, timekeeping, recruiting, and finance systems. Identify opportunities to automate and streamline HR processes, recommend technology-driven solutions, and implement enhancements that improve efficiency, scalability, compliance, and the overall employee experience.

Training & Stakeholder Support: Develop system documentation, training materials, and user guides to support successful HRIS adoption. Provide training and ongoing support to HR team members, managers, and employees, while serving as the primary point of contact for HRIS-related questions, issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.

QualificationsQualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years of experience implementing, configuring, administering, or supporting HRIS platforms.

Experience leading or participating in a full-cycle HRIS implementation, including requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, deployment, and user training.

Experience managing HR data migrations, validation processes, and system integrations.

Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining HR reports, dashboards, analytics, and data-driven business solutions.

Experience working with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver technology projects and system enhancements.

Experience supporting payroll, benefits, recruiting, timekeeping, or other HR-related systems preferred.

Experience with HRIS platforms such as UKG, Workday, Dayforce, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, BambooHR, or similar systems preferred.

Experience in hospitality, cruise, maritime, transportation, or multi-location operations environments preferred.

Experience managing projects in a growing or evolving organization preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), HR operations, and business process automation.

Knowledge of core Human Resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee data management, payroll, benefits administration, timekeeping, performance management, and compliance.

Knowledge of system implementation methodologies, data governance principles, systems integrations, and information security best practices.

Skill in HRIS configuration, administration, reporting, workflow design, and system optimization.

Skill in managing HRIS implementations, data migrations, system testing, and integration projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel functions for reporting and data analysis.

Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.

Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and effectively manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Strong verbal, written, presentation, and training skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while working with sensitive and confidential information.

Ability to lead HR technology initiatives and drive successful user adoption through training and change management.

Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement technology-driven solutions that support organizational goals.

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.

Ability to adapt to changing business needs and organizational priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: Periodic shipboard travel is required to support operational needs, system implementation activities, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

This position is classified as “in-person,” which means the physical office in Orlando.

Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work.
