POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon Pipe Line (MPL) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Analyst in Findlay, OH. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, and communication skills and thrive in a team environment. This role will serve as the lead data analyst for Field Services and Planning (FSP), provide data analytics expertise to MPL employees, and act as the FSP Budget Liaison, managing more than $60 million in annual spending, including providing support for MPL’s vehicle fleet budget and ordering process.

This role also guides and facilitates MPL’s resource optimization and productivity processes, which continue to evolve with implementation of the new planning and scheduling platform through the Next Generation Maintenance and Mobility Project. The successful candidate will use creativity, critical thinking, and technology to deliver significant value to MPL.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads MPL’s data analytics and visualization development, providing subject-matter expertise in troubleshooting, advanced visualization coaching, and solution development. Serves as the lead FSP data analyst for Damage Prevention, Sustainable Landscapes, PE, and Fleet.

  • Owns the metrics and KPIs sub-elements within the Assurance Element of MPL’s Operational Excellence Management System.

  • Provides strategic planning support for MPL-wide dashboards, goals, and metrics.

  • Oversees the FSP budget and serves as the liaison among BP&A, FSP process leaders, and FSP leadership.

  • Maintains MPL’s Vehicle Approval Process and supports the vehicle fleet budget.

  • Acquires, cleans, and prepares data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability; maintains knowledge of key systems and retrieves data as needed.

  • Analyzes large datasets to identify meaningful insights and trends.

  • Develops and implements analytical models to forecast trends and outcomes.

  • Performs statistical analyses to identify patterns and correlations in data.

  • Creates clear, visually compelling dashboards and reports.

  • Communicates findings to stakeholders through charts, graphs, and presentations.

  • Ensures data integrity and quality through routine audits and validation.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.

  • Drives continuous improvement and defect elimination through data-driven insights.

  • Establishes and supports data governance to ensure organizational data is reliable and fit for purpose.

  • Partners with stakeholders and leads initiatives to build sustainable data pipelines, automations, and advanced analytics solutions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Organizational Management or Business Administration.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience analyzing and developing visualizations of data to drive decision making. Preferred experience within MPL operations or departments.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Power Platform (i.e. Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) required.

  • Advanced proficiency with other Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. required

  • The person must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to set and organize work priorities, excellent time management skills and the ability to work with confidential information.

  • The ability to complete work based on specific time restrictions is essential.

TRAVEL & LOCATION:

  • Travel expectation is less than 10%

  • A valid driver's license is required

  • Findlay, OH location
