About this role
We are looking for a Mass Tort/Toxic Tort Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience to join Lydecker's California practice group and handle asbestos defense litigation. This is a high-priority hire for a growing team where you'll manage your own caseload end-to-end rather than being siloed into narrow tasks — with a clear path to promotion.
What will you be doing?
Managing a full caseload of mass tort/toxic tort (asbestos) defense matters from inception through resolution
Drafting and responding to motions, complaints, and written discovery
Taking and defending depositions in asbestos litigation
Attending hearings, mediations, and potentially trial
Communicating directly with clients and managing case strategy independently
Key Requirements
Active California bar license in good standing
2+ years of civil defense litigation experience, specifically in mass tort/toxic tort (asbestos experience required)
Experience on the defense side — plaintiff-side attorneys will not be considered
Trial experience is a huge plus and considered high priority
Self-motivated with the ability to manage a full caseload independently
