About this role
We are looking for an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of civil defense litigation experience to join Lydecker's Syracuse office and handle a diverse caseload of general liability, premises liability, and auto accident defense matters. You'll work under partner mentorship at an AV-rated national firm known for its tenacious client advocacy and collegial culture.
What will you be doing?
- Defending premises liability, auto accident, and general liability cases from inception through resolution
- Managing a caseload of 15+ active matters simultaneously
- Drafting motions, discovery responses, and pleadings
- Attending and defending depositions
- Appearing in court for hearings and assisting with trial preparation
Key Requirements
- Active NY bar license in good standing (dual NJ/NY admission is a plus)
- 2+ years of civil defense litigation experience — preferably in general liability, premises liability, or auto/casualty
- Background at a defense firm
- Ability to meet ~2, 000-2, 100 billable hours annually
- No excessive job hopping — stable tenure history expected
