About this role
Lutron Orluna is seeking a Tactical Buyer to join our Procurement team at our warehousing facility in Dunstable.
As a Tactical Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of materials that support our operations. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, manage supplier relationships, and help drive continuous improvement in our supply chain processes.
Responsibilities
- Execute and manage purchase orders, handling exceptions, supplier delays, deferrals, and expedite requests to ensure continuity of supply.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through proactive communication, order tracking, and issue resolution.
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules to ensure on-time material availability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by identifying potential shortages and implementing corrective procurement actions.
- Support administrative procurement activities, including Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, product coding, and data maintenance.
- Produce, maintain, and analyze procurement reports, trackers, and key performance indicators to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with production, planning, and customer service teams to align material supply with business demand requirements.
- Lead procurement activities for large-scale projects, ensuring materials are sourced and delivered within agreed timelines.
- Resolve supplier and supply chain issues promptly, expediting deliveries where necessary to minimise operational disruption.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, supplier performance, and overall supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related discipline.
- 1-2 years’ experience in purchasing, supply chain operations, planning, procurement, or logistics activities.
- Proven ability to manage purchase orders, supplier communications, inventory tracking, and operational coordination to ensure uninterrupted supply and service levels.
- Demonstrated attention to detail through accurate order processing, data management, reporting, and compliance with operational procedures
- Collaborative team player with a track record of building effective working relationships and contributing to team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
