Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Line Technician to own the performance of our high-speed Circle Packaging vertical/horizontal pouch lines. In this role, you will be stationed directly on the production floor, focusing on maximizing line efficiency, performing rapid product changeovers, and troubleshooting automated machinery. If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and have specific expertise with pouch packaging machinery, we want you on our team.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Maximize Line Efficiency: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve real-time mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues directly on active pouch production lines.
  • Execute Line Changeovers: Perform rapid mechanical changeovers, calibrations, and test setups between different product runs to minimize downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Complete routine PM tasks, component rebuilds, and equipment adjustments to ensure peak operational reliability.
  • Documentation & Inventory: Complete and track digital work orders, accurately logging parts usage and maintenance notes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with supervisors and operators to identify performance bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement solutions.
  • Safety First: Conduct regular safety inspections, maintain a clean workspace, and strictly adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Pouch Line Expertise: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience specifically operating, maintaining, or setting up Circle Packaging Machinery pouch lines is strictly required.
  • Manufacturing Experience: 3+ years of overall mechanical maintenance experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment (Food/Bev, Pharma, or CPG preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in high-speed mechanical diagnostics, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and basic welding/fabrication.
  • Blueprints & Manuals: Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and equipment manuals to source replacement parts and troubleshoot.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written English communication skills; basic computer literacy for work-order logging.

Physical Demands
  • Continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling on the production floor.
  • Manual dexterity to handle delicate components and heavy tools alike.
  • Ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday)
Note: Requires scheduling flexibility based on production needs. Schedule changes are managed in accordance with the Chicago Fair Workweek Ordinance.
