About this role

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing or assisting with individual regulatory exams, GSE, agency and investor reviews and regulatory reporting. Monitor, analyze, and respond to regulatory inquiries. Prepare and timely file periodic regulatory reports, including the Mortgage Call Report (MCR). Update the department’s issues tracking database to include examination findings and remediation reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Examinations, GSE and Agency/Investor Reviews and Regulatory Reporting:
    • Plan and execute regulatory exams and GSE, investor and agency reviews, including monitoring, analyzing, and responding directly to regulators and investors.
    • Prepare exam requests and inquiries, review document and data requests, determine appropriate individuals for response, coordinate with and gather data from a variety of team members and partners, manage any required follow-ups, validate data and ensure that all responses are complete, accurate and submitted timely.
    • Track and report on the progress of regulatory exams.
    • Prepare and timely file periodic regulatory reports, including the Mortgage Call Report (MCR).
    • Develop and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders and timely escalate and resolve issues, as applicable.
    • Act as the examinations/review primary point of contact for regulators, agencies and investors.
  • Compliance Projects:
    • Assist with various compliance projects, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Eight (8) years’ compliance experience in the mortgage or financial industry.
  • Three (3) years’ managing and/or examinations and reviews, including overseeing remediation plans.
  • Experience in managing or assisting with examinations and GSE, investor and agency reviews for a mortgage lender.
  • Familiarity with mortgage regulations, financial services industry best practices and GSE/investor requirements.
  • Strong organizational, process, and project management skills.
  • Confident interacting with external examiners and reviews and working with all levels of impacted stakeholders.

Base salary is one piece of our total rewards package and is structured within a range so you can progress as you grow in the role. For this position, the anticipated annual base salary range is $100,000 to $138,500 nationally. In certain high-cost geographic markets (CA), the anticipated annual base salary range is $115,000 to $159,500. Actual compensation will depend on your skills, experience, qualifications, and the work location tied to our geographic pay structure.
