Be part of a team providing innovative life changing residential care to youth in need. The Behavioral Health Specialist utilizes their unique skills and understanding of trauma and mental health to provide direct care to teenage youth in a residential setting. They work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive service delivery. The Behavioral Health Specialist plays a crucial role by providing and monitoring therapeutic interventions, engaging youth in treatment programing and in motivating a positive peer culture. They are consistent in demonstrating therapeutic communication, unconditional positive regard and empathy during all interactions with youth and their families.

Competitive pay based on licensure and educational experience.

Starting Hourly Rate - $17.00 and up

Available Shifts

Full-Time: Thursday- Sunday - 7:30am-3:30pm

Part-Time: Saturday& Sunday - 7:30am-3:30pm

Essential Functions

Supervise youth in a residential setting, provide crisis intervention as needed.
Provide direct monitoring of youth and facility throughout the work shift.
Document any significant events in the log and progress notes, complete incident reports when appropriate.
Plan and supervise recreation activities, assistant in meal preparation.

QualificationsRequired Education and Experience

  1. High School diploma/GED.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associates or higher degree.
At least 1 year of experience in serving at risk youth or in a residential program.
A background or college courses in education, social work, or psychology.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

CPR / First Aid certified.
Ability to handle physical activities, including recreational activities
Good driving record
