Job Summary:

Leeward Renewable Energy is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Financial Analyst (P2) to provide information, analysis, financial modeling, and execution support for project finance analytics. Essential Functions

  • Build, maintain, review, and audit renewable energy project finance models.
  • Model ITC, PTC, and PTC with Pay-Go tax equity structures.
  • Analyze financing sensitivities, including debt and tax equity sizing, investor yields, flip timing, project costs, production, power prices, curtailment, merchant exposure, and interest rates.
  • Evaluate capital structures, including tax equity, construction debt, term debt, warehouse facilities, and back leverage.
  • Analyze capital accounts, target allocations, distribution waterfalls, DROs, and investor returns.
  • Review ECCAs, MIPAs, LLCAs, credit agreements, and other financing documents, and incorporate relevant terms into financial models.
  • Validate assumptions and transaction economics through due diligence, scenario analysis, and model reviews.
  • Support transaction underwriting, lender and investor diligence, negotiations, and execution.
  • Perform market research and other financial analyses as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong renewable energy project finance modeling experience, an understanding of tax equity partnership structures, and the ability to translate commercial, legal, tax, and financing terms into financial models. The candidate should be comfortable evaluating transaction sensitivities and communicating complex financing concepts to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Two to Four years of experience in renewable energy project finance, tax equity, investment analysis, or financial modeling.
  • Experience building, reviewing, or auditing integrated project finance models.
  • Familiarity with ITC, PTC, and PTC with Pay-Go structures, including capital accounts, allocation mechanics, waterfalls, DROs, investor yields, and flip mechanics.
  • Familiarity with ECCAs, MIPAs, LLCAs, back leverage credit agreements, and related financing documents.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transaction workstreams in a collaborative environment

Familiarity with Finance and Accounting (Dynamics, Hyperion) and/or Business Intelligence (Power BI, Tableau) systems is preferable.

  • Good team player with the ability to work in a growing team environment.

  • Strong analytical, attention to detail, multitasking and problem resolution skills.

  • Self-starter with effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Please Note: This is an in-office role, requiring on site presence in our office a minimum of three days per week with hybrid flexibility of working remotely two days per week, subject to manager and policy approval. #LIHybrid

LRE considers several factors when determining compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. In compliance with the Illinois Equal Pay Act, the salary range for the Sr. Analyst, Project Finance is between $74,000 to $104,000 annually. Compensation is set within the range based on each candidate’s background, with the potential to grow as responsibilities and experience increase. This position also includes a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k)-retirement plan, health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
