LBS Financial Credit Union is currently searching for a talented Learning Specialist (Trainer) to join our team working in our corporate headquarters located in Westminster, CA.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitate training curriculum per facilitator guide and training agenda. Facilitation to make-up 50-75% of the job function based on training needs. Remaining time to be allocated to compliance and system administration duties.
  2. Adherence to the training calendar schedule. Collaborating with recruiting partner to work through logistics of class roster, start dates, modifications based on special circumstances.
  3. Efficiently address learning objectives and identify any gaps that are observed in the course of facilitation.
  4. Classroom management and ensuring that venue, tools, materials, resources, and technology are setup for a successful learning experience.
  5. Utilize change log and follow the L&D maintenance process to record and track updates needed to keep content evergreen.
  6. Work with SME’s to validate and obtain the most accurate information in the training materials.
  7. Observe and document current functional process to be up to date with knowledge, current business tasks and processes. 
  8.  Deploy learner evaluation survey after training activities to measure effectiveness of training and transfer of learning on the job.
  9. Collaborate with Learning Specialist II to revise and update training programs as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization, incorporating blended learning methodology as appropriate.
  10. Monitor training activities and program effectiveness, making suggestions and implementing improvements to program design.
  11. Maintain awareness of training methodology and industry best practices and incorporate into training.
  12. Work as a liaison with Compliance and internal business stakeholders to ensure learner assignments are correctly identified and distributed according the Annual Compliance Required Training plan.
  13. Monitor progress of Annual Compliance Required Training and report to stakeholders based on internal process and timelines.
  14. General LMS maintenance such as course code/curriculum creation, media upload, and user profiles and access.
  15. Maintain learner record accuracy and follow record retention policy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of progressive experience with facilitating adult learning.
  2. Demonstrated skill in facilitation to maximize learning and/or behavioral outcomes, including enhancing motivation and increasing knowledge retention.
  3. Classroom management experience and ability to adhere to training agenda. 
  4. Demonstrated knowledge facilitating learning activities like discussion, role playing, lecture, action learning, demonstration, and/or exercise.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of functional job roles that are supported by L&D. For example: MCR I-V, Underwriting, Funding, Member Contact Center.
  6. Ability to functional independently with minimal supervision as well as working as part of a team.
  7. Demonstrated proficiency using learning tools and software.
  8. Ability to work flexible hours based on training schedule.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience working in a financial institution (bank or credit union) in a training, sales, or service role.
  • 2+ years of facilitation, demonstrating understanding of the ADDIE model.
  • 2+ years of administrator experience with a cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Certification or experience facilitating functional, technical, leadership and personal development courses 

PAY RANGE

In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between: 

$25.08 - $31.34

Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
