Job Overview:

The CAD Engineer is responsible for supporting product design & development, and production improvement. A portion of the responsibilities will include improving the product design and tooling creation process through automation, training, and continuous improvement methods. The CAD Engineer is also responsible for creating 2 dimensional drawings packages for production and ordering the corresponding tooling and fixture.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support product design, product development, and production improvement.
  • Create AutoCAD templates and commands using AutoLisp.
  • Streamline the CAD process by leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Creation of production drawings and initial support of tooling purchases.
  • Artwork file generation for assembly tooling, laser drill pattern, and lithography mask design.
  • Write and update procedures, project plans, and other documentation as required.
  • Generate process routers using ORACLE
  • Generate inspection specifications using UniPoint.
  • Mentor team on AutoCAD functions and drafting skills.
  • Assist with training of new team members.
  • Provide manufacturing support, as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 4-year degree in engineering, science, technology + a minimum 1 years of applicable hands on experience (Drafting, Machine Shops, Commercial 3D Printing, etc.)
  • Product design and manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings & specifications
  • Effective time management skills
  • Accountability to the timelines of task completion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of polyline, hatch, boundary, block, insert, dimension, offset, viewport, scale, stretch, and trim commands in AutoCAD
  • Understanding of viewports, workspaces, layer manager, and drawing properties in AutoCAD.
  • Working understanding of Finite Element Analysis.
  • Programming, Autodesk, CNC, and BobCAD software experience preferred.

  • Must be a US Citizen, legal permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
