Salary: $23.00-$30.00 per hour + Health & Welfare (H&W)

ROLE
KMRG, LLC (KMRG) is a federal services company that hires talented professionals to support Government agencies and the communities they serve. We are hiring an HR Administrative Specialist to support the U.S. Army Student Detachment (USASD) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

In this role, you will support approximately 1,700 Army students worldwide with personnel actions, pay and entitlements, military records, travel, and day-to-day HR assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Personnel Processing & HR Actions
  • Process Soldier in/out-processing, including records reviews, order verification, and personnel tracking updates
  • Prepare and process IPPS-A personnel actions, including promotions, awards, reassignments, leave, and separations
  • Compile personnel accounting and strength-management reports supporting assigned Soldiers
  • Maintain accurate Soldier data and track administrative actions in Government HR systems
  • Review and apply current Army HR publications, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Complete assigned personnel actions within established performance standards and timelines
Pay, Finance & Records Management
  • Process pay entitlements, special actions, deductions, allowances, and related Soldier finance transactions
  • Initiate, adjust, and stop authorized pay and allowance actions as directed by Government decision authorities
  • Maintain military personnel records by uploading required documents to iPERMS
  • Process finance transactions using DJMS, SmartVoucher, CMS, MMPA, CEDEMS, DMO, and CITIBANK systems
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support regulatory, financial, and personnel-file compliance
Travel, Help Desk & Customer Support
  • Manage travel actions through the Defense Travel System and Army Training Requirements and Resources System
  • Create travel authorizations and assist Soldiers with travel vouchers for Government approval
  • Serve as an interactive help desk for assigned students using email, Microsoft Teams, and telephone
  • Respond to customer inquiries on time and coordinate unresolved issues with Government staff
  • Assist Soldiers and Government personnel with HR, finance, records, and travel matters
Systems, Documentation & Administrative Support
  • Use IPPS-A and iPERMS to manage Soldier information, personnel actions, and official records
  • Submit and maintain required access requests for Army HR, finance, travel, and case-management systems
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, tracking documents, and other administrative work products
  • Maintain organized files, databases, and documentation supporting USASD operations

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum two years of experience performing administrative support functions
  • Experience coordinating or managing assigned administrative tasks, projects, or workflows
  • Experience using enterprise databases or automated business systems

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS
  • Technical aptitude and computer literacy
  • Proficiency with standard office software and enterprise databases
  • Ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and manage database systems
  • Organizational skills supporting regulatory and document compliance

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Army or military HR, personnel, pay, finance, or administrative support
  • IPPS-A, iPERMS, DTS, or other Department of Defense HR and finance systems
  • Personnel actions, military records, pay entitlements, or travel processing
  • Support to geographically dispersed military or Government populations

  • Central Receiving Point, Bldg. 2601, Door 7, Washington Road, Columbia, SC 29207

TELEWORK
  • 100% onsite

CLIENT
  • U.S. Army Student Detachment (USASD)

WORK HOURS
  • Full time, Monday-Friday
  • Normal operating hours: 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
  • Core hours: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM

SECURITY / ACCESS
  • Must complete required background and Fort Jackson access processing
  • Must meet applicable Department of Defense and Army identity-verification requirements
  • Must complete required Army security and information-assurance training
  • Must safeguard PII and other Government information
