We are seeking a versatile and self-directed Individual to lead and support a wide range of ad hoc initiatives across our engineering and manufacturing operations. This role is designed for someone comfortable working without a fixed daily routine. The individual will move between projects as business priorities shift, applying engineering judgment and hands on problem solving to improve our products, processes, and operations.
This is not a narrowly defined position. The right candidate is a generalist who can pick up unfamiliar problems quickly, work cross functionally, and deliver measurable results whether the task involves redesigning a component, streamlining production or engineering processes, troubleshooting equipment, or supporting a new initiative.
Essential Functions, Duties, and responsibilities
Serve as a flexible resource, taking on assigned projects as they arise across product design, manufacturing processes, and operations
Identify opportunities for improvement in product performance, manufacturing efficiency, quality, cost, and process
Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for recurring issues on the production floor
Design, test, and implement process improvements, tooling changes, or product modifications
Develop project plans, timelines, and success metrics for assigned initiatives; report progress to management
Collaborate with cross functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and product design
Create or update technical documentation, work instructions, drawings, and standard operating procedures as needed
Support capital projects, equipment installations, or facility layout changes when assigned
Perform data collection and analysis to support decision making (e.g., cycle times, scrap rates, downtime)
Assist with training operators or technicians on new processes or equipment
Respond to urgent operational issues as needed, reprioritizing work to address business critical problems
Other duties and special projects as assigned by management
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands on experience)
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities
Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands on approach
Proficiency with CAD software, Microsoft Office/Excel, and basic data analysis
Comfortable working both independently and as part of cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non technical stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
Familiarity with automation, or industrial controls
Preferred experience with ERP/MRP systems
Prior experience in a role requiring adaptability across multiple functional areas
