At Kirmac, we believe our success starts with our people. We're looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused Human Resources & Safety Coordinator to support both our HR and Health & Safety programs across a growing multi-location organization.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, loves building systems and processes, and wants hands-on experience across employee relations, compliance, onboarding, training administration, workplace safety, and HR operations.
You'll work closely with leaders across the company while helping ensure our team members are supported, our programs remain compliant, and our culture continues to thrive.
What You'll Do
Human Resources
- Coordinate onboarding and new hire documentation
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity
- Support recruitment and interview scheduling
- Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries
- Prepare HR reports, trackers, and workforce analytics
- Support policy administration and compliance requirements
- Coordinate employee communications and HR programs
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs
- Support HR process improvement and automation projects
Health & Safety
- Support workplace health and safety programs across multiple locations
- Monitor training requirements and compliance records
- Coordinate safety meetings, inspections, and follow-up actions
- Maintain safety documentation and incident records
- Assist with WorkSafeBC administration and reporting requirements
- Track corrective actions, investigations, and safety initiatives
- Support health and safety audits and compliance activities
- Help promote a strong culture of workplace safety
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources, health and safety, training administration, compliance coordination, or a related administrative role
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments
- Professional, approachable, and service-oriented communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and business systems
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and reporting tools
- Interest in HR compliance, workplace safety, training administration, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- CPHR designation or active pursuit of designation
- Health & Safety training or related certification
- Experience with benefits administration and HR reporting
- Experience supporting multi-location operations
- Interest in process automation, analytics, and modern HR technology
