About this role

About the Role

We're hiring an experienced Industrial CT and NDT Metrology Specialist to join our imaging and metrology lab. This role backfills a long-tenured senior specialist, so we're looking for someone who can operate our CT systems and metrology software effectively from early on and grow into a lab technical leader as they learn about our procedures and best practices. You'll work directly with production and project management to turn scan data into client-ready engineering deliverables.

This position supports aerospace and other export-controlled work. Applicants must be U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents) as defined under ITAR/EAR.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial CT, laser/handheld 3D scanning, and CMM equipment safely and to procedure
  • Plan and execute imaging and metrology jobs, defining appropriate scanning techniques and parameters (energy, filtration, geometry, resolution, fixturing) for each part and requirement
  • Understand and communicate the scope and limitations of industrial CT and related NDT methods
  • Acquire and evaluate CT, X-ray, and optical/laser data to qualify parts and support product design and improvement
  • Produce accurate, well-documented deliverables and coordinate regularly with the production team and project management
  • Support lab quality, calibration, and best-practice standards, and mentor junior staff as you gain seniority
  • Possibility to support data post-processing and analysis — including dimensional metrology, defect/porosity review, and reporting — with GD&T/ASME Y14.5

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial CT systems; North Star Imaging acquisition hardware and software preferred. Senior candidates strongly encouraged to apply
  • Working knowledge of laser/handheld 3D scanners, CMM, and general metrology equipment in a technical lab
  • Experience with metrology and volume software such as VGSTUDIO MAX, PolyWorks Inspector, and Geomagic Wrap is a plus
  • ASNT / NAS410 certification (RT or CT, Level II+) preferred but not required

Education

B.S. in Engineering or a related field, and/or certification from an accredited technical program in radiography, imaging, or a related discipline. We'll also consider an equivalent combination of education, training, and directly relevant work experience.
