  • Support university recruiting, co-op hiring, career fairs, and community partnerships

HR Operations and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR system information

  • Process employee changes involving compensation, job titles, reporting relationships, employment status, and benefits

  • Support payroll preparation and help resolve payroll or timekeeping questions

  • Administer leave, PTO, benefit enrollment, and other employee programs

  • Maintain required documentation and support compliance with applicable employment requirements

  • Assist with policies, employee communications, reporting, audits, and annual HR processes

  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve HR processes

Performance and Employee Development

  • Coordinate performance review and employee development processes

  • Support leaders with goal setting, feedback, and performance documentation

  • Help identify and coordinate training and professional-development opportunities

  • Track certifications, development plans, and other talent information

  • Contribute to employee engagement, recognition, retention, and workforce-planning efforts

Qualifications

  • One to three years of relevant human resources or people-operations experience

  • Experience supporting areas such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits, payroll, leave administration, employee relations, performance management, or HR administration

  • General understanding of employment practices and applicable federal and state requirements

  • Ability to independently manage routine employee questions and recognize when additional guidance or escalation is needed

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with employees and leaders

  • Clear, thoughtful, and professional written and verbal communication

  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail

  • Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment

  • Experience using HRIS, payroll, benefits, or applicant-tracking systems

A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership, or a related field is helpful but not required. Equivalent professional experience, training, and demonstrated HR capabilities will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ADP or a comparable HR and payroll platform

  • Experience within an engineering, consulting, technology, professional-services, or project-based organization

  • Experience supporting university, co-op, or early-career recruiting

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or progress toward a relevant HR certification

  • Experience improving HR processes, documentation, or employee resources
