Job DetailsJob Location: Irvine Baekjeong - Irvine, CA 92604Salary Range: $16.90 - $16.90 HourlyJob Category: Restaurant - Food ServiceThe Food Prep position performs routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and sweeping/mopping floors etc.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with prep list and sanitation guidelines
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, etc.
Prepare and measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking, as well as prep for Pantry and Line Cooks
Set up sanitizer buckets, with towels for station
Temperature checks of all walk-in coolers
Disinfect prep area surfaces
Wash knives and cutting boards, and keep stations clean
Check food plating, temperature, and portions for all dishes
Sterilize kitchen equipment at the end of your shift
Monitor stock and place orders, as needed
Restock all necessary items

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School/GED or higher education preferred
1+ year(s) of experience in high-paced kitchen environment preferred
Knowledge in storing ingredients preferred
Must know how to clean, sharpen, maintain kitchen knives
Knowledge of food ingredients preferred

The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Proper lifting, pushing and pulling techniques are required.
