Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and record keeping
- Implement an Emergent Curriculum
- Support children’s emotional, physical, and behavioural well-being
- Foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Complete attendance records and health & safety checks
- Collaborate with professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as needed
- Support children through daily routines and classroom transitions
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, families, and colleagues
- Proficiency with computer systems for documentation and classroom operations
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative
- Strong problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Valid BC ECE license
- Current Criminal Record Check
- Valid Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR certification
- Up-to-date immunizations
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 lbs
