About this role

The Collision Center Manager is responsible for driving business growth by building and maintaining relationships with insurance adjusters, customers, and other key partners to ensure consistent repair volume. This role oversees daily operations of the collision center, focusing on achieving departmental profitability, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and managing expenses effectively. The manager leads the autobody collision team to ensure timely, high-quality repairs while meeting productivity goals and adhering to safety and compliance standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Oversee daily operations of the collision center, ensuring efficient workflow, technician productivity, and high repair quality.
  • Monitor and approve technician flag hours in CCC One; verify accurate labor data for payroll processing through the HR platform.
  • Approve employee timecards and ensure timely submission in accordance with payroll deadlines.
  • Set and manage departmental goals, KPIs, and performance metrics to align with business objectives.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate body shop staff to build and maintain a high-performing team.
  • Manage the annual operating budget with a focus on cost control, profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate repair schedules and job assignments to meet productivity and cycle time targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance adjusters to support referral volume and claims efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate repair estimates and cost projections to maintain transparency with customers and insurers.
  • Oversee parts coordination to ensure timely availability and minimal repair delays.
  • Track repair progress and enforce quality and safety standards throughout the repair process.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and spot audits to minimize comebacks and uphold service standards.
  • Respond to customer concerns promptly and professionally, resolving issues in line with company policies.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation for repair orders, estimates, and final invoices.
  • Oversee billing and accounts receivable processes for collision repairs.
  • Ensure team compliance with all safety procedures and regulatory requirements (OSHA, hazardous materials, etc.).
  • Maintain shop equipment, tools, and fixed assets; recommend upgrades to improve efficiency.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and in compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Coordinate ongoing training and professional development for shop staff.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and support its values in all internal and external interactions.
  • Participate in management meetings and collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 
  • Relevant Certificate from Vocational School in Collision Repair preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in management; and 
  • 5+ years of experience within the collision industry

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • i-CAR Certification preferred

Physical Demands

  • Ability to do consistent physical activity such as reaching below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting and the ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Work may involve exposure to typical shop environments including noise, dust, and vehicle fumes. 
  • Must be able to safely move between office and shop areas as needed.
